Pedal steel is a beautiful and
complicated instrument. To learn to play a pedal steel requires a patient and persistent
individual. Steel guitarists are among the most dedicated people on the planet to their
craft, often spending most of their waking hours playing, talking about, or day dreaming
about this instrument. Once bitten by the "Pedal Steel Bug" you are never the
same. The enjoyment cannot be described in mere words, but anyone who has ever played the
instrument will agree that it is one of the most satisfying accomplishments in a person's
life.
The Pedal Steel players in Hampton
Roads Virginia are among the best in the land. Many have played years in the clubs, on the
road, in week-end bands, recording studios, and at home just for the enjoyment. Steelers
have a bond that is very special, often helping each other by sharing ideas and equipment.
It is our intention to showcase these players, giving the respect rightfully due them.
