Jerry Hayes is originally from the Southern California area around Los Angeles. He has been playing professionally for over 41 years.

He is one of the area's most versatile musicians,  playing a great lead guitar in addition to pedal and lap steel, mandolin, dobro, banjo, and harmonica.
He plays a single neck12 string BMI with an Emmons logo on it which he calls his "Psuedo Emmons". He uses a unique tuning which he calls his 12 string "Mooney" west coast style tuning. It utilizes 6 floor pedals and 5 knee levers.
For effects he uses a DigiTech RP-100 and a Goodrich Matchbox.

Jerry played full time for over 22  years with many of the top west coast artists and bands before moving to Virginia in 1985. Some of the artists he has appeared with are Billy Mize, Cliff Crofford, Jerry Wallace, Fred & Rose Maddox, Sammy Masters, Mayf Nutter, Ray Sanders, Danny Michaels,Wynn Stewart, Red Simpson, Eddy Drake, and many others. He did a long stint at Bonnie Price's Foothill Club in Long Beach which was one of the largest clubs in Southern California.

Jerry says his favorite instrumentals on steel guitar are "Orange Blossom Special"  by Doug Jernigan,  "Broken Down in Tiny Pieces" by Buddy Emmons, "Old Joe Clark" by Jimmy Crawford, and "Lost in the Feeling" by John Hughey.

Jerry Hayes is a true musician in every sense of the word as well as a great guy to share the stage with.

He won the Virginia Country Music Association's "Instrumentalist of the Year" in   2000,  and again in 2001.

Some of the bands which Jerry has played with since moving to Virginia are:  4 Wheel Drive, Ambush, Last Call,  Buck Fisher Band, Montana Hayes, Steel Wheels, The Jerry Lee Scott Show and The Legends Band.
